Betting Odds: Houston Rockets -7.5 -- Over/Under: 224.5

The Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets meet Thursday in NBA action at the Toyota Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Washington Wizards vs Houston Rockets prediction.

Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have been in terrible form as they've lost 17 of their last 19 games overall, but they had reeled off two straight wins before they got thrashed by the Grizzlies in a 109-97 road loss on Tuesday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Corey Kispert added 22 points while Deni Avdija chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a poor start and were always fighting an uphill battle after getting outscored by 67-42 in the first half before they made a bit of a run in the second half to keep the final scores respectable.

Houston Rockets

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in great form as they've won five of their last six games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after outlasting the Spurs in a 103-101 road win on Tuesday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Jalen Green added 16 points with seven rebounds and five assists while Jabari Smith Jr chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they trailed early in the fourth quarter before they went on a pivotal 11-0 run to pull away and escape with the narrow road win in the end.

Washington Wizards vs Houston Rockets prediction

The Wizards are still shorthanded with Landry Shamet and Richaun Holmes still out, while the Rockets are still missing Cam Whitmore and Alperen Sengun. The Wizards sprung to life with a couple of impressive wins before they fell back down to Earth with a disappointing loss to the severely depleted Grizzlies on Tuesday, while the Rockets are starting to heat up again with five wins in their past six outings. It's hard to know which Wizards team is going to show up in this meeting, so while I wouldn't be surprised if the Wizards pulled off the upset, I'm more comfortable going with the Rockets to continue their strong form with another win and cover at home in this spot.
