How Much Will Former Everton Midfielder Demarai Gray Earn in Saudi Arabia?

The soccer revolution of Saudi Arabia has caused havoc in the world. Everton midfielder Demarai Gray is the latest player to be linked to one of the clubs.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Al Shabab have a principal agreement for a potential transfer of Gray. The attacking midfielder is on the verge of leaving English football and is set to move to Asia.

The transfer has not taken place yet, but the Toffees have a verbal agreement for the sale of the Jamaican. The decision now is on the player if he wants the move or not, but the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee.

The Riyadh-based club did not have the best start to the Saudi Pro League. They have only picked up one point out of the possible 6 from the first two games.

On top of that they are yet to face Karim Benzema’s Al-Ittihad, Neymar’s Al-Hilal, or Cristiano’s Al-Nassr. The club needs to sign a creative player who can complement and create for Habib Diallo, and Gray is the name on the priority list.

Al-Shabab could end up paying around $30 million for Demarai Gray. The player had been key to Everton last season when they just escaped relegation.

How Much did Demarai Gray earn at Everton?

The Jamaican midfielder arrived at Everton from Bayer Leverkusen and settled in quickly. In one of the lowest points in the history of the club, Gray helped them avoid relegation on two consecutive occasions. He scored 12 goals in 75 matches for the Merseyside club.

With a weekly salary of $31k, Gray was one of the highest-paid players at the club. The salary compounded to a whopping $1.6 million annually without bonuses. He was also set to receive bonuses for helping the club retain top-flight football.

The former Leicester City player will receive an increment for sure at the Saudi Arabian outfit. The two clubs have reached a verbal agreement and now the Al-Shabab will begin talks with Demarai Gray.

What has Gray won till now?

What people many people have forgotten is the fact that Gray made his PL debut in the season when Leicester shocked everyone. Leicester City against all odds went on to lift the Premier League title. The Jamaican midfielder made 12 appearances that season but did not score any goals.

Gray is an offensive midfielder who can operate centrally or from either of the wings. He thrives on combination plays and always looks to create for his fellow attackers. He also has an eye for goal and never shies away from taking a long shot at the goalkeeper

It will be interesting to see if accepts a deal to move to Saudi Arabia or not. How many goals do you think he will score for Al-Shabab in his first season?
