The Orioles, 22-11 and second in the AL East, who could have imagined that?

Those two teams will be in one of those early Sunday games, with the two the two teams trading wins the first two games of this series. Tyler Wells (2-1, 3.34 ERA, .77 WHIP, 27 strikeouts) will start for the Orioles while Bryce Elder (3-0, 1.75 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 32 strikeouts) will start for the Braves.

Game time from Truist Park in the Atlanta metro area is 11:35 a.m. NBC will carry the game, which you also can stream on fubo TV (FREE 7-day trial), Peacock, Sling TV (half-off the first month) DirecTV Stream and MLB TV.

Wells has been one of the leaders of the Orioles staff this season, going at least 5 innings in all five starts. He has fanned 27 batters in 35 innings. Cedric Mullins has five doubles, two triples and four home runs for the Orioles. Anthony Santander is 14-for-42 with three doubles and four home runs over the last 10 games.

Elder has been just as good, if not better, than Wells this season. He is 3-0 in six starts, whiffing 32 batters in 36 innings. Offensively, Ronald Acuna Jr. has a .351 batting average to lead the Braves, and has 11 doubles and six home runs. Ozzie Albies is 14-for-38 with two home runs and three RBI over the past 10 games. Kevin Pillar hit a pinch-hit two-run home run in the eighth inning on Saturday to bring the Braves from behind in a 5-4 victory.

Baltimore will return home for a 10-game homestand after today’s game, including a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, who own baseball’s best record, and the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are off to a similarly fast start in the NL Central.

As for the Braves, they are off tomorrow, then welcome the red-hot Boston Red Sox, who have won eight straight entering their game today in Philly.
