How to watch Mexico vs. Guatemala soccer friendly (6/7/23): time, FREE live stream, odds

The Mexican national team will play against fellow Gold Cup contender Guatemala in the first of their pre-Gold Cup friendlies on Wednesday evening.

Game time is 10 p.m. EDT and it will air on Unimas in a Spanish-language broadcast for viewers in the United States and can be streamed live on fuboTV (FREE trial).

This will be Mexico’s first match at Estadio de Mazatlan, a 25,000-capacity stadium that is the home of Mazatlan FC of Liga MX. Because it looks like a sea monster coming out of the ground, it has been given the nickname The Kraken.

Diego Cocca, Mexico’s new head coach, has led them to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Nations League, where they will play against the U.S. national team next Friday in an attempt to set up a meeting with either Panama or Canada in the final. This is a chance for Mexico to add momentum as it heads toward several important games.

But Guatemala, despite being ranked more than 100 places beneath Mexico in the most recent FIFA World Rankings update, has frustrated Mexico with two 0-0 draws in their last four meetings. Their most recent head-to-head fixture last April ended goalless, with two 3-0 wins for Mexico sandwiching another stalemate at the Gold Cup in 2015.

Luis Fernando Tena is Guatemala’s coach who no doubt has some insights into Mexico and how it plays: He was that team’s assistant manager between 2010 and 2013.

Per cbssports.com, Caesars Sportsbook lists Mexico as the -490 favorites (risk $490 to win $100) in the latest Mexico vs. Guatemala odds, with Guatemala the +1200 underdogs.
