'I'm not sure he's streetwise enough'
Kevin Ryan has won the Ayr Gold Cup five times. Last year's winner Bielsa is in good shape. His stablemates are also in top shape and ready to win. Bergerac, Aleezdancer, Gis A Sub and Khanjar are the favourites. Ryan is looking for his sixth win in the race. He has also won it with Advanced, Our Jonathan, Captain Ramius, Brando and Bielssa.
William Haggas is chasing his first trainers' title at Ayr. He won the race with 7-2 favourite Nahaarr two years ago. Khanjar is a sprinter of some potential, but Hagga is not sure if he's streetwise enough to win an AYR Gold Cup.
Michael Dods is trainer of Commanche Falls, Tinto and Pendleton. Tinto is in good form. Pendelton might be slightly out of his depth in this race. Summerghand got a penalty for winning at York. Ed Walker is hoping to go one better with Popmaster. Alastair Donald is racing manager to King Power Racing. Bielsa needs some give underfoot. King Pater wants to win the Ayr Gold Cup with him again. They've been waiting for this event for six months. He's been in form this season. Last year he got nailed by Bielssa on the stands' rail.
