Which players the Saudi Pro League paid over the odds for during their summer transfer window have been revealed after their spending finished around £700million

The Saudi Pro League summer spending spree has come to an end - and their overpayments have now been laid bare.

Around £700million was dished out on transfers by clubs in the Middle Eastern nation before their window slammed shut last week, which was only topped around the world by the Premier League at £1.59billion.

Given four of them - Al-Hilal, Ah-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad - were taken over by their near-bottomless Public Investment Fund in June, they could largely afford to pay up whatever was necessary to get a deal done.

That excessive spending has been exposed by Ticketgum, who compared all the transfer fees paid by Saudi sides in recent months to each players' current market values on transfermarkt at the time of the move.

That showed who was overvalued the most, with Daily Star Sport giving you the rundown of the top 10.
