India-Pak T20 cricket match: Security agencies on high alert over betting

There is a cricket match between India and Pakistan on Sunday. Security agencies and UP police are on high alert. Several match-fixing and betting cases have been unearthed from Uttar Pradesh in the past. The suspects are businessmen and sports management companies from Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Noida and Ghaziabad. The STF sleuths are in touch with Mumbai and Delhi police sleuthers. They are providing all possible leads about bookies and gambling rackets. In May 2013, a major betting racket was unearthed after arrest of several people in Varanaisi and Kan Pur.
