Navi Mumbai: Four held for accepting bets on India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup match

NAVI MUMBAI: Four persons from Pune were arrested in Navi Mumbai for allegedly taking bets on World Cup cricket matches, a police official said on Sunday.

These individuals were specifically involved in betting on the India-Pakistan match that took place on Saturday. Their arrest was made following a tip-off received from Vahal in Ulwe.

According to the NRI Sagari police stationofficial, these suspects were running a betting operation utilizing three laptops, 23 mobile phones, and various other electronic devices.

Additionally, a sum of cash amounting to Rs 5.14 lakh was confiscated during the operation.

Hapur: International online cricket betting racket busted

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karan Jadhav, Rakesh Kondre, Atul Balghat, and Manish Chawla. They are facing charges under the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Gambling Act.
