Jazz vs. Timberwolves prediction and odds for Monday, January 16

The dream season for the Utah Jazz might be slipping away, but at 22-24, they’re still in the mix in the Western Conference and only a game behind the team that gave up every first-round pick for the next 30 years to them for Rudy Gobert.

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat Cleveland on Saturday to pull themselves up to .500, 22-22 and they’re without Karl-Anthony Towns. Their lineup could be even more depleted tonight. Rudy Gobert might not get his shot at his revenge game part III, and the T-Wolves youngest star, Anthony Edwards, could miss as well.

There’s some uncertainty surrounding this one, but that could provide some value for us, so let’s get into the odds for this western conference matchup.

Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards are both listed as questionable for tonight’s game with injuries, so Minnesota could be severely limited.

The last time Gobert got a shot at his former team, he went for 22 points and 13 rebounds in a win, but lately, he’s become less and less a part of this offense. In his past two games he has six points on 2-3 shooting and four points on just one field goal attempt and two free throws.

He’ll have sporadic outbursts like 25 against the Clippers on Jan. 6, but those are very few and far between. They might not miss a ton if he’s out, but if Edwards can’t go that’s a huge blow.

Lauri Markkanen is also questionable to go tonight, so both team’s leading scorers could be on the shelf.

He missed Utah’s one-point loss to Philly on Saturday, but had 28 points in their win over Orlando before that. The over is 5-1 in Utah’s last six games and 4-0 in their last four on the road, but with so many question marks about who will actually be on the court I think they’ll buck that trend and this game will go under tonight.
