Jets vs. Golden Knights prediction and odds for Game 2 of NHL playoffs

The Winnipeg Jets upset the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of their Western Conference opening round playoff series. Now, the No. 8 seed Jets have a chance to take a 2-0 series lead back to Winnipeg.

But, in order to do that they need to pull off a second straight upset. Can they pull it off?

Let’s take a look at the odds for the game and then I’ll give you my best bet.

Jets vs. Golden Knights odds, puck line, and total

Jets vs. Golden Knights prediction and pick

The Jets beating the Golden Knights in Game 1 wasn’t a fluke. They outplayed them in every facet of the game and my belief that the Golden Knights aren’t nearly as good as their No. 1 seeding indicates has been justified, at least for the time being.

If it look at expected goals in the game, the Jets still would’ve won by a wide margin, coming in at 3.47-2.16.

The Golden Knights only managed 10 high-danger scoring chances all game, the fewest amongst all 16 teams in their opening games of the postseason.

When it comes to overall CORSI%, which measures all types of shot attempts, the Jets were third amongst all team’s opening game at 56.48%, but in FENWICK% which takes out blocked shots, they had the best mark at 60%.

The Golden Knights, despite finding ways to win games in the regular season, weren’t an impressive team from an analytics perspective.

I’ll back the Jets to once again pull off the upset.
