JockeyCam offers new Virtual Reality Horseracing Experiences

Video production firm JockeyCam has created a virtual reality experience for racegoers. The technology debuted at Ayr Racecourse and is expected to be showcased elsewhere at other horse racing meetings throughout the year.

JockeyCam offers new Virtual Reality Horseracing Experiences. The latest one gives a jockey's eye view of riding a National Hunt horse around Chepstow Racecourse. Jockey Cam’s technology has already been used with broadcasters to demonstrate a VR view at Royal Ascot and Breeders” Cup. Next step for JockeCam could be to develop a virtual reality experience for flat racing.

JockeyCam is a high-definition camera mounted on a jockey's back protector. It provides a panoramic perspective of the top-level horseracing. The technology is lightweight and unobtrusive. Jockey Cam was used at the 2021 Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the 2022 Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park, Florida. Last autumn, it was also used in speedway to provide a rider's eye perspective at British Speedway Premiership Grand Final.
