Justin Zayat Haskell Diary: From Anxiety to Ecstasy

Team Zayat won the William Hill Haskell Invitational Stakes on Sunday. American Pharoah won by 2¼ lengths. Justin Zaysh is the son of ZAYAT Stables patriarch Ahmed Zayed.

Justin Zayat is going to the track. He went to sleep early last night at 11:30.

Benjamin, 15, came back from Israel at 6 a.m. today. He was away in camp in Israel. Ben flew in just for the race today and they named a horse after him - Big Foot Ben.

11 a.m. they took off from Teterboro, about 10 minutes from their house.

Justin Zayat Haskell landed at the track near the parking lot.

Justin Zayat is preparing the party for 120 guests at Monmouth Park. He rented three rooms in Monmmouth's Parterre boxes. His parents were in California for a couple of weeks. He met with Mon mmouth park executives Bob Kulina and Dennis Drazin on Thursday.

Zayat visited Frank Mirahmadi in the Monmouth Park press box. He wanted to show his friends the races from a different angle.

Justin Zayat Haskell's friend is going to watch a marathon.

Justin Zayat is entertaining his friends in a separate room on the Parterre Level. He wants to get people addicted to racing. He hopes they will hit a bet and be hooked. If they don't like betting, there are other ways to make them involved.

Justin Zayat and his friends arrived in the paddock. They posed for photos and fist bumped. Bill Murray is only five yards away. Justin is nervous. Victor Espinoza is riding American Pharoah. The pressure is on Victor.

American Pharoah is coming through the tunnel leading into the paddock. The crowd cheers. Pharoo is going to have a comeback race.

Justin Zayat and Baffert were greeted by Gov. Chris Christie. They are crowded into a small outdoor box on the second level.

American Pharoah is about to take the lead. Zayat is cheering him on. He cantered home.

Justin Zayat won the Haskell Stakes. He got excited in the middle of the race. The heaviest trophy he ever held was the Belmont. He had to whisper to Bob to help him carry it.

Justin Zayat watched the Haskell Stakes replay on one of the TVs set up there. He is happy with the result. The horse was fresh and ready. He was riding exercise rider George. When Victor was on him, it was show time.

Baffert and Ahmed Zayat would not commit to a specific next race. Justin Zays will tell track bosses on Monday that they will decide as the race gets closer.

Justin Zayat is going back to Manhattan right now. He's got work tomorrow. His family and Bob are going to Del Mar. Justin is hanging around on the East Coast for the week.
