Kansas vs. TCU Odds, Picks, Predictions College Basketball: Can Jayhawks Get Revenge?

The Kansas Jayhawks look to avenge a lopsided loss back in January when they travel to face the TCU Horned Frogs on Monday. Read on for our Kansas vs. TCU college basketball picks based on the top NCAAB odds.

In the first meeting between these two teams, TCU crushed Kansas inside Allen Fieldhouse during an 83-60 blowout. That loss was in the middle of a three-game skid for the Jayhawks, who have seemingly turned the corner by winning four in a row and six of their last seven.

TCU still enters Monday's matchup as a slight favorite, fresh off dropping 100 points in a victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. That game marked the return of Mike Miles, who is one of the best point guards in the country.

Kansas (22-5, 10-4 Big 12) needs to get revenge to stay in first place in the league standings, but TCU (18-9, 7-7 Big 12) will be motivated to complete the season sweep and improve its seeding for the NCAA Tournament.

Here is our best Kansas vs. TCU college basketball pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Kansas vs. TCU pick

Kansas ML (+110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

The market is moving in TCU’s favor early, but that isn’t too surprising based on how lopsided the first meeting was. So, let’s take a closer look at that Jan. 21 tilt in Lawrence to figure out what to do with our money, shall we?

ShotQuality, which analyzes each game based on the shots taken, actually graded TCU with a 68-67 victory instead of its 23-point blowout win. Perhaps the fact the Horned Frogs hit eight 3-pointers in that game — despite ranking 354th in the country in 3-point shooting — had something to do with the outcome.

TCU does make up for its poor 3-point offense by being elite in transition, especially with Miles leading the show. But Kansas is capable of limiting such production, as Bill Self’s squad ranks in the 91st percentile in transition defense, according to Synergy Sports Technology. Don’t be surprised if the Horned Frogs aren’t able to replicate their 19 points in transition in Monday’s rematch.

The market might be overreacting based on what transpired a month ago. I was someone who bet TCU +8.5 as soon as the lines were released for that January meeting, which eventually closed at a 7-point spread.

This would be a four-star play if this game was played on Tuesday instead of Monday. Kansas guards Kevin McCullar Jr. and Dajuan Harris Jr. are still dealing with lingering ankle issues, so the short turnaround is a concern after their defensive play proved to be pivotal in Saturday’s comeback win over Baylor. Still, I’ll bet on Self and Co. avoiding the sweep with the Big 12 title officially in their sights.

Kansas vs. TCU best odds

DraftKings (+110)

Four of our five top-rated sportsbooks are in agreement on the +110 Moneyline, meaning a $100 bet would net you $110 when Kansas wins tonight. We are recommending DraftKings only because of the same-game parlay options at that sportsbook.

For example, KU senior Jalen Wilson has a scoring prop of 18.5 points for Monday's tilt with TCU. Though the Over is juiced to -130, we still like the idea of betting on a player who is averaging 20.4 points per game. The Horned Frogs might not have the personnel to slow down Wilson, as evidenced by his 30-point performance in the first meeting.

If the spread does climb up to 2.5, we would have a four-star confidence in taking the points with the visitors. At anything +2 or lower, I’d rather take my chance with the ML and net some extra cash in my pocket.

Kansas vs. TCU odds analysis

TCU opened as a 1-point favorite, but this line has now moved to 2 at most sportsbooks. If you want to lay the points with the Horned Frogs, BetMGM's offering of -1.5 (-115) is your best option. SuperBook is an attractive option for underdog bettors, thanks to its 2.5-point spread.

Expect plenty of points in this Big Monday matchup, which opened with a total of 149 before climbing up to 149.5. There is a consensus market on the total, so it doesn’t really pay to shop around at this time.
