Khaadem holds off Raasel challenge to win King George Qatar Stakes

Khaadem won the Stewards' Cup in 2019. He also won Palace House Stakes at Newmarket last time out. Khaadam was trained by Charlie Hills. Hills won this Group Two for four successive years with Battaash.

Khaadem won the King George Qatar Stakes at Goodwood on Friday. Ryan Moore rode the winner for the first time. Raasel finished second. Charlie Hills won this race four times in a row with Battaash. Chris Dixon, for Raasel's owners, made an entry for Flying Five at the Curragh. The horse had an accident at Royal Ascot. He lost his hind end and had to be helped out by Jamie Spener. His owners will look for a Group One race at Nunthorpe. They will also consider the Flying 5 at CurRagh if the ground is fast. It is possible that Khaadead could win next year and the year after.
