There have been five winners aged 8, another three aged 7, one aged 6 and 9 and one 6. Hitman is the only 6-year-old winner this year. Bravemansgame and L'Homme Presse are both aged seven. Frodon is 10.

The last 10 King George winners have been in the 160s rating. The highest-rated this year is L’Homme Presse with a rating of 170. Eldorado Allen and Frodon will try to follow in footsteps of the previous winners. The longest break was 54 days between Down Royal and Kempton. Tornado Flyer and frodon were beaten 21 days after their previous races. Royale Pagaille will be fresh after a hold-up in his work during November. He will also be competing in Tuesday's Welsh National. It's unlikely that he will win.

Tornado Flyer and Thistlecrack have both won at Kempton for the first time. Long Run won the Kauto Star Novices' Chase and the King George in 2012.
