Kings vs Nets Prediction

The Sacramento Kings travel to the Barclays Center to do battle with the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.

The Sacramento Kings have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’ve won nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after sneaking past the Bulls in a 117-114 road win last night. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 32 points on 12 of 17 shooting, Harrison Barnes added 17 points, Malik Monk scored 19 points off the bench while Domantas Sabonis racked up a triple-double of 14 points with 17 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 18 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going in the first half before they clicked into gear and poured in 69 points in the second half to steal the game thanks to Fox who drained the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back here after getting routed by the Thunder in a 121-107 road loss on Tuesday. Mikal Bridges led the team with 34 points on 11 of 23 shooting, Cam Johnson added 23 points with nine rebounds while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 16 points and 11 assists. As a team, the Nets shot 42 percent from the field and 12 of 41 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 33 points in the first quarter to take an early 16-point lead, but all their hard work went to waste in the third quarter where they got outscored by 38-20 to get blown out in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Nets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Brooklyn, the Kings are 5-16 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Brooklyn and the Kings are 8-20 ATS in the last 28 meetings overall.

The Kings could be shorthanded here as Richaun Holmes is currently listed as day to day, while the Nets are still missing Ben Simmons. The Kings are playing their second game of a back to back set, but they are coming into this meeting as the team in better form and they are a solid 4-0 ATS in their last four road games. The Nets are also playing some good basketball the moment, so I’m not too surprised that they’ve opened as favorites at home, but I’ll back the Kings to maintain their momentum with another win here.
