Kirk Cousins next team odds: Falcons pass Vikings as favorite

A new quarterback is the favorite to be behind center for the Falcons next season.

After weeks of Justin Fields rumors, Kirk Cousins has usurped the Bears quarterback as the betting favorite to be Atlanta’s signal caller in 2024.

Cousins, who will become a free agent this month, is sitting as a -225 favorite at DraftKings to be the Falcons starting quarterback come Week 1.

The odds shift comes on the heels of a report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, which stated that Cousins “is seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta,” where his in-laws reside.

A few weeks ago, Vegas bookies anticipated a Cousins-Vikings reunion despite the veteran quarterback being unsigned.

Minnesota had been -200 to retain the veteran quarterback in late February.

They are now +150 for Cousins after the recent Falcons rumors.

Despite the Atlanta rumors, Vikings brass has made it clear that they’d welcome the 35-year-old back as their quarterback moving forward.

Cousins’ odds shift mirrors Fields, who was -130 to go to Atlanta last month after unfollowing the Bears on social media and, in turn, following Falcons playmakers Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson.

While other suitors may emerge, it appears to be a two-team race for the four-time Pro Bowler.

The Steelers and Raiders are lingering at 10/1, but they are the only other teams with odds better than 14/1.

Cousins enters free agency in a peculiar spot after suffering a season-ending Achilles tear during Week 8 last season, potentially bringing his six-year tenure in Minnesota to an end.

When healthy last season, Cousins threw for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions and even played himself into the fringes of early NFL MVP conversations.

His decision could have a domino effect that potentially affects the trade market for Fields.
