Lakers at Grizzlies Prediction

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies do battle at the FedExForum on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have come to life with four wins in their past five outings and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after sneaking past the new-look Mavericks in a 111-108 road win on Sunday. Anthony Davis led the team with 30 points, 15 rebounds and four assists, LeBron James added 26 points with eight rebounds and three assists while Dennis Schroder chipped in with 16 points and eight assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 43 percent from the field and just six of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and trailed by as many as 27 points in this one, but they never gave up and dominated the second half by 64-47 to pull off the incredible comeback.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies look to be warming up again as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the surging Nuggets in a 112-94 win on Saturday. Ja Morant led the team with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Tyus Jones added 17 points and five assists off the bench while Dillon Brooks and Xavier Tillman each scored 12 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 44 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Nuggets from the start and exploded for 38 points in the second quarter to build a 35-point lead before they took their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games playing on one days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 39-17-1 ATS in their last 57 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings overall and the Lakers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Memphis.

The Lakers are going to be shorthanded here as LeBron James has been ruled out and D’Angelo Russell is listed as doubtful, while the Grizzlies are still without their big, Steven Adams. The Lakers need to finish the regular season on a hot streak to get into the playoff picture, but they campaign received some tough news when they learned that James could be out for an extended period. The Grizzlies were really struggling for a while there, but they’ve come back to life over their past six games and they will be full of confidence after destroying the red-hot Nuggets on Saturday. The Lakers should be good enough to hang around in the first half, but in the end, I think the Grizzlies will just run away with it in the second half to win big.
