Lakers remain unwilling to trade their two first-round picks

Lakers are off to one of their worst starts in franchise history. They have the 17th-best odds to win the championship in 2023. The front office is unwilling to trade their first-round draft picks (2027 and 2029).  According to some sportsbooks, they are below the New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Lakers are 2-8 this season and 14th in the Western Conference. LeBron James is averaging 24.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1 steal. His PER is 19.2 this year, which is the lowest since his rookie season. Lakers are ranked 17th overall in defensive efficiency and 26th for team shooting percentage.

Lakers are unwilling to trade their two first-round picks. Dwight Howard signed a deal with the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League in Taiwan. The team is struggling with injuries and poor shooting. They have a below-500 record for the 2022-23 season.
