Lakers vs. Thunder prediction and odds for Wednesday, March 1 (Lakers bounce back)

The Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder face off Wednesday night in what is the second night of a back-to-back for both squads.

Los Angeles took a tough loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday despite hanging tough for most of the game, but 28 third quarter points from Ja Morant turned out to be too much for Los Angeles.

The Thunder, who have dropped four straight, are now 0-3 in their last three games without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who may miss Wednesday’s game as well.

With LeBron James already out, do the Lakers have the firepower in them to pull off a road win?

Here’s a look at the latest odds:

Lakers vs. Thunder prediction and pick

This game is set as a pick’em, but I can’t help but give the Lakers the edge if Anthony Davis suits up in this game.

It’s hard to see SGA returning on the second night of a back-to-back, and even if he does, OKC has taken a bit of a step back, falling to No. 13 in the West. The Thunder may decide to play things safe and hold him out since their play-in chances are dwindling.

On the season, the Thunder have a better net rating than the Lakers, but the team is now 9-9 against the spread as a home underdog.

OKC seems to cover in every spot at a high level, but with the Thunder catching one at some books, it looks like oddsmakers are bracing for SGA to be ruled out again.

The new-look Lakers may not have James, but they are a much deeper team than before the deadline. They should bounce back in this spot.
