Law’s trade report: Josh Hader boosts the Padres

Josh Hader was traded to the Padres for three players. The Brewers got three other players back in exchange. Milwaukee leads the NL Central by three games. The Padres trail the Dodgers by 12 games in the division. They are one game behind the Brewers in their division, but they are in a stronger position. It's possible that the deal will improve their chances for the future. Dinelson Lamet was acquired in this deal. He was dominant in 2020 but has struggled this year. His changeup is a nonfactor. If he finds another weapon (a splitter?) to get left-handers out, he could be effective in his new role.
