Layne Riggs’ gamble pays off with NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series national title

Layne Riggs won the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series national title. He is a second-generation late model stock car driver from Bahama, North Carolina. Rigs won 16 races at five tracks and a track championship at Virginia's South Boston Speedway. In the middle of his pursuit for the national championship, Rigg's signed a three-race deal with Halmar Friesen Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series. The crew members who assist the Rgs family with their late models are volunteers. They include current NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Josh Berry, Bobby McCarty, Deac McCaskill and Jared Fryar.
