Liberty Lane impresses Clifford Lee with debut success

Liberty Lane won on debut under Clifford Lee.

Liberty Lane won the novice novice race at Nottingham on his debut. Clifford Lee rode him to a five-length victory. Have Secret won a nursery race by three and a half lengths under Oisin Orr. Lady Mimi Manton's colt was Lady's final winner at Haydock in August.

Adam Farragher has returned to the saddle after a 13-week injury layoff. He won the apprentice handicap on Aldbourne and the fillies' handicaps on Qoya for his boss William Haggas. He missed the majority of the season due to a fall on the gallops two days before he was due on Mujtaba.

Jane Chapple-Hyam's team returned to Newmarket with two winners but without one of their three runners. Opera Ghost suffered a fatal heart attack in the 1m2f nursery.

The opening race was delayed by half an hour because of a fire alarm in the Centenary stand. The stand was evacuated, but the fire brigade found the alarm and reset the system. Now the race can start.

Racing will resume shortly. It will try to run as close to the original schedule as possible.
