The west London side were firmly in the picture for a top seven finish following a fantastic run in the new year, going undefeated in 12 matches, but three defeats in a row at the start of April left them trailing behind the pack.
Brentford won the return fixture 3-1 back in January, their first win over Liverpool since 1938.
The Bees have lost on all of their last six visits to Anfield, dating back to 1937.
