Game Preview

Liverpool are enduring their worst season for a long time. Currently sitting way down in 10th place in the Premier League, the Reds look a long way off the team they have been in recent seasons.

With Liverpool already out of the EFL and FA Cup and the league all but gone, their season hinges entirely on European success but set to take on Carlo Ancelotti’s Los Blancos, the Reds’ problems continue to mount.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are not only looking to defend their title, but trailing arch-rivals Barcelona in La Liga, Ancelotti’s men will feel they have a point to prove if they’re still to be considered one of the best club teams in the world.

Set to travel to Anfield to play in front of a raucous home crowd, Tuesday’s game will mark a repeat of the 2017-18 final, which saw the Spaniards come out on top thanks to a world-class overhead kick goal from retired attacker Gareth Bale.

Playing in the Champions League is never easy, for any team, but one thing is for sure, Liverpool vs Real Madrid will certainly be a spectacle for the neutral fan.

Prediction

Liverpool are hard to back, even if they will be playing at home. They just look so off the pace this season. Their midfield is desperately lacking and with injury problems continuing to plague Klopp, it is really tough to put together a case for a home victory.

Real Madrid just know how to turn up on the big occasions too and with a young and vibrant squad, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Spaniards outclass the struggling Premier League outfit.
