Louisiana Champions Preview Weekend features six new stakes at Fair Grounds. Friday's spotlight will be on Louisiana-bred fillies and mares. A six furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up will take place in Happy Ticket's honor. Brittlyn Stable's Ova Charged is the favorite. The Big World Stakes is Race four on the opening day card. Allied Racing Stables' Winning Romance is a 2-1 morning line favorite, while Keith Plaisance's Cheapskate Diva is on form. The race starts at 4:30 p.m.

Behemah Star is the favorite in the Scott's Scoundrel Stakes for 3-year-olds and up. Allied Racing Stables' Who Took the Money is a 7-5 favorite. Bertie's Galaxy is an 11-time winner of the inaugural six-furlong $75,000 Monte Man Stake for three- and four-wheelers. The Coteau Grove-bred Kevin Stedman-owned Late September exits a mid-October win in Louisiana Legacy Stages at Delta Downs. The Joseph R.Peluso St.akes is Race 8 on the Saturday card. Post time is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
