Epicenter won the Risen star at the Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds. Call Me Midnight came from behind to beat Epicenter in the Lecomte Stakes. Brad Cox-trained Zozos is hoping to upset the odds. The Louisiana derby is the longest of the major Kentucky Derby preps. It offers qualifying points on a scale of 100-40-20-10 to the top four finishers.

Epicenter is the favorite for Saturday's race at Churchill Downs. He broke his maiden at his second start and has won the local Gun Runner Stakes in December. Last time he won a race, he was caught in the final stages of the Grade 3 Lecomte.

Zozos won an allowance race at Oaklawn Park. He will race in the Louisiana Derby on Saturday. Florent Geroux might have to use his mount early to gain position against the favorite Epicenter.

Call Me Midnight is the favorite for the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes. He won the Lecomte Stake two months ago. If the favourite is softened up by serious pressure early, he will come running late.

Pioneer of Medina is a son of Pioneerof the Nile. He finished fourth in the Risen Star. The horse has been better since adding blinkers for trainer Todd Pletcher. This race has more early speed than the one in Risin Star, which could make things tougher for him.

Rattle N Roll won the Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland as a 2-year-old. He finished sixth in the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth last month. Rattle n Roll is going to race in Louisiana Derby on Saturday.

Galt is trained by Bill Mott and has a full sister to the great Songbird. He won his maiden race three starts back at Gulfstream Park and finished fourth in the Grade 3 Holy Bull.

Kupuna finished second in a fast allowance race on the Risen Star undercard. He is getting better with each race and is working well for trainer Bret Calhoun.

Curly Tail broke his maiden in his sixth career start for trainer Dallas Stewart. He finished strongly in a maiden race at Oaklawn Park four weeks ago.
