LSU's Upset of 'Bama Makes Them 2022's CFP Dark Horse Team

The usual suspects are at the top of the AP College Football rankings. The LSU Tigers are No. 7 in the nation. They have a chance to take the SEC West for the first time since the team's 2019 national championship season.

LSU didn't crack the top 25 until Week 6 and dropped right back out for Week 7. Since then, LSU has two ranked wins back-to-back and they are now in the Top 10 for the first time this season.

LSU beat Alabama, but winning the SEC West and earning a trip to the CFP isn't guaranteed yet. The Tigers' first chance at clinching the division rests in Week 11's matchups with LSU vs. Arkansas and Ole Miss vs Alabama. If OleMiss beats Alabama and LSU loses to Texas A&M, the Tigers will miss their first opportunity since 2019 to compete in the Championship.
