Man City vs Inter Milan: Champions League final start time, how to watch, odds

Manchester City will be looking to win their first Champions League title and complete an historic Treble when they face Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul.

Pep Guardiola's side have already won the Premier League and FA Cup heading into the clash with the Italian giants, where they will aim to end their wait to claim European football's biggest prize. 

City reached the showpiece in the Turkish city by sweeping aside Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals following a breathtaking second-leg performance.

As for Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi's men come into the game after defeating rivals AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate in the other semi-final.

Man City vs Inter Milan - the key details

The Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan will take place on Saturday, June 10, with kick-off at 8pm.

The game will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. The stadium was scheduled to host the finals in 2020 and 2021 but were both moved due to the COVID pandemic. 

Saturday's final will be the first competitive game between the two teams. 

It will be the second Champions League final staged at the venue following Liverpool's heroics against AC Milan in 2005.

How to watch

The match will be shown live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate, with coverage getting underway at 6pm.

Fans will also be able to watch the action on the channel's official YouTube page, with the clash also due to be streamed on the BT Sport app.

Team news

City defender Kyle Walker was absent from their open training session yesterday. However, the right-back played down fears he could miss the Champions League final with a back injury.

'I'm fine, I'm just getting old,' he told Sky Sports News. 'I'm completely fine, it's just an extra day of recovery.  

'I've played a lot of minutes over the last number of weeks so the manager said, "Just stay inside and come Saturday you will be raring to go."'

Guardiola is set to have a fully fit squad to choose from. Erling Haaland will once again lead the line, with Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva set to feature behind the Norwegian.

As for Inter, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Milan Skriniar are both expected to be fit for the final but Joaquin Correa looks set to miss the game.

Lautaro Martinez is likely to lead the line alongside former City striker Edin Dzeko.

Guardiola said that it was a dream to reach the final this weekend and gave his thoughts on their opponents.

'They are used to dominating the games in Italy and they have a lot of good patterns so we have to defend really well,' he said. 

'It's a final against a top team and we have to do it. We are confident and optimistic but I can not deny the qualities of the opponent.' 

As for Inter, Inzaghi said that his side will be facing the strongest team in the world this weekend. 

'We face the best,' the Italian said at his pre-match press conference.

'We're talking about a football match and with all due respect, I'm not afraid of anything.

'Guardiola is the best coach in the world and he has marked an era. We have respect, but we are proud to play in this final that we wanted with all our strength.

'It will be the last of 57 matches in which even the much-talked-about defeats have allowed us to get to where we will be on Saturday.'

Without a shadow of a doubt, this will be City's best chance of winning the competition for a long time.

Their recent form has shown why many believe they are the best team in the world and they represent formidable opponents for the Italian side.

The onus is fully on City to win and many are not giving Inter much chance of success.

But the Italians still have a few players capable of causing the English side some problems.
