Man Utd vs. Nottingham Forest Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Manchester United have almost confirmed a spot in the League Cup final as they head into the semi-final second-leg with a 3-0 advantage over Nottingham Forest.

Erik ten Hag’s side are the strong favourites to win within 90 minutes but there is better value elsewhere rather than the match result.

Tom Winch has previewed the match and provided his two best bets.

Man Utd vs Nottingham Forest Tips

Brennan Johnson Over 0.5 Shots + Nottingham Forest Over 2.5 Corners

Steve Cooper’s men face a huge uphill battle, they’ll give all that they can to get themselves back in the tie and one man who I’m keen to get behind is Brennan Johnson. The Welshman managed two shots in the opening leg defeat and has recorded at least one shot more often than not this campaign.

Johnson has registered a shot in each of his previous 11 Premier League starts for Forest and in 17 appearances from 20 across the league campaign. Backing the youngster to have one shot here seems a nice way in when combining it within a bet builder.

Since the return, Forest’s corner numbers have been very respectable. They’ve notched up three or more corners in seven of the last nine which has seen them take 15 against Man United in two meetings. They took nine in the league visit to Old Trafford and six in the opening leg last week.

The combination of the two looks a nice price at 4/5 with bet365, Forest themselves will know that this tie is well out of reach but cup matches are often full of surprises.

It’s tricky to work out what starting line-up the Man United boss will choose here, they have eight games in February so keeping key players fit is a must with European action just a couple of weeks away.

Brennan Johnson Over 1.5 Shots + Nottingham Forest Over 3.5 Corners

Manchester United have conceded 48 corners in their nine home games in the league this campaign, at an average of 5.33 per 90. Six of their nine opponents have racked up four or more corners in those matches, so Forest appear to have a great chance as they chase the tie.

Steve Cooper’s men have hit the required corner mark in six matches from a possible nine since the return and have found corners easy to come by in both clashes against the Red Devils this season.

Brennan Johnson has taken two or more shots in half of his league matches this campaign with five of those coming in the previous seven. Forest as a whole have improved their performances as they’ve climbed the Premier League table.

The stats certainly suggest both selections have a chance, Brennan Johnson will be expected to start in a forward position for the visitors as they loom to overturn a huge deficit. Both bets cashed in the opening leg at the City Ground, a repeat here would be excellent.
