Manchester United ready to rival Real Madrid for €125 million-rated priority target

At one point, the race for Jude Bellingham seemed to be set between Real Madrid and Liverpool. However, it is difficult to keep other clubs from entering the picture with talents such as the young Englishman. Manchester City soon entered the equation and made it a three-way competition.

Now, according to reports from The Telegraph, Manchester United are ready to enter the race for Bellingham. The introduction of a new party surely does not bode well for Real Madrid given that staying in England is a tempting proposition to the player.

The English outlet further adds that Bellingham’s transfer fee has now been set to a minimum of £110 million (€125 million).

In Real Madrid’s eyes, Bellingham is the dream signing for June. The 19-year-old midfielder is thought of as the ideal long-term replacement for the ageing Luka Modric and would fit perfectly alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the youngster’s signing would have no impact on Modric’s renewal for a further season, opening the doors for the Croatian international to mentor him for one year.

However, his arrival could have implications on the future of Toni Kroos whose loss would be devastating given his importance in the team.

Real Madrid have been apprehensive about paying over the odds for Bellingham and the addition of another Premier League team in the mix certainly does not bode well as they can splash the cash and meet Dortmund’s steep valuation for the 19-year-old.

It must be noted that Manchester United had previously pushed hard to sign Bellingham, prior to his move to Borussia Dortmund back in 2020. Now they are again back in the picture and could be a threat to Real Madrid’s chances, with the team performing well under Erik ten Hag.

In 23 Bundesliga appearances this season, Bellingham has scored four goals and provided four assists for Dortmund. He also. Averages 1.1 key passes per game and has created seven big chances.

Only time will tell whether he returns to his homeland this summer or moves to Spain by signing for Real Madrid.
