Maple Leafs same-game parlay predictions vs. Red Wings Jan. 14: Bet on Detroit and Raymond

The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to shake off an embarrassing loss on Sunday.

The pregame narrative: Toronto blew a 3-0 lead against the Colorado Avalanche last night. Now, the Detroit Red Wings come to town and I'm siding with the visitors as puck-line underdogs. Secondly, the under on an alt total makes its way onto the ticket as does a wager on Lucas Raymond to score a point.

Same-game parlay Maple Leafs predictions

Parlay: Red Wings +2.5 + Under 7.5 goals + Raymond to score 1+ points (+310)

Red Wings +2.5 (-250): It's looking like the clock is striking midnight on Martin Jones.

The Maple Leafs puck-stopper is turning into a pumpkin after weeks of carrying the team. Jones had a .934 save percentage through his first 12 appearances of the season. He's posted a .871 save percentage over his last two outings which could be a sign of fatigue setting in.

That leaves Toronto with a decision to make: it can continue to overwhelm Jones with starts or turn to an unconfident Ilya Samsonov? Neither sounds like a great option.

Detroit has covered this spread in nine of the team's last 10 contests while the Maple Leafs have failed to cover it in eight of their last 12.

Other parlay picks

Under 7.5 goals (-180): Goaltending could be a problem for Toronto but this is a very reasonable price to get this number at.

Of course, Jones or Samsonov could struggle and send this over the total but this is a lot of goals. The under on this mark has come through in seven of the Maple Leafs' last 10 and three of the Red Wings' last four.

Toronto's defence has performed well on short turnarounds. The Maple Leafs are holding the opposition to just 2.40 goals per game on zero days' rest, the team's second-lowest total of any rest scenario.

Raymond to score 1+ points (-110): Raymond does seem like a solid pick to notch a point in this game.

The Red Wings forward has seven points in his last seven contests. Two of those have come on the power play and that's where he should be most dangerous to score.

The Maple Leafs have the 25th-ranked penalty kill (76.7%) and have allowed a power-play marker in three consecutive games.

Raymond is third on the Wings in scoring chances (101), according to Natural Stat Trick.
