Marchenko ready to earn his shot with the Blue Jackets

Kirill Marchenko was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the second round. He is making the best of his new life in North America.

Marchenko is enjoying his time in Traverse City. He scored a goal and added two assists in the tournament. Marchenko is a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect. He will play in Blue Jacket camp starting Thursday. His coach, Trent Vogelhuber, thinks he will get better at playing on the smaller ice surface. Marchenko will start on a line with Gus Nyquist and Sean Kuraly. The team is looking for a new coach. It's not known if he'll be a regular player.   Marcchenko will be looked at as a potential regular when the season begins. "It's a very fast game, just be ready for hits and be smart, make quick plays," he says.
