Marlins vs Phillies: Best bets, TV schedule & betting preview for April 11th

The Philadelphia Phillies exploded back into life on Monday with a 15-3 win over the Miami Marlins who have now dropped 3 of their last 4 games. The Phils are now 4-6 on the season and will be looking for their 4th home win of the year against the Marlins on Tuesday.

Marlins vs Phillies Betting preview

Pitching matchup

Jesus Lazardo (1-0, 0.71 ERA) vs Aaron Nola (0-1, 7.45 ERA)

The Phillies are winless through their opening three games but things are quickly turning around. Citizens Bank Park continues to be a place of comfort for the Phils, who are now 3-1 at home this season and will hand starting duties over to Aaron Nola in hopes that he too can begin to heat back up.

Nola’s last start came against the Yankees where he gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 6 innings on the road. He has a 3.18 ERA against the Marlins in his career and maintains a 5-8 record against them. The Marlins rank 27th in MLB batting average, at least inspiring some hope that Nola can bounce back and keep the bats quiet.

As for Jesus Lazardo, his challenge is much tougher. He’s made two starts so far, giving up just one run on five hits in his most recent effort. He now faces a team batting .285 (2nd in the MLB) and one who just lit up Sandy Alcantara. There could not be a wider contrast in the offenses taking to the plate tonight, giving the Phils a huge advantage

Betting pick

The Phillies are 3-1 at home and the Marlins are 3-5 as an underdog. I like Aaron Nola to have a bounceback game in this spot against a struggling batting lineup that will already be fearing keeping pace with the Phillies.

Betting pick: Philadelphia Phillies (-145)
