Maryland’s Unusual First Day Of Online Sports Betting
Maryland launched a trial period for its seven approved sportsbooks on Monday at 2 p.m. ET. It will be fully live on Wednesday at 10 p.,m., when the state's legal betting will go offline again. The original bill was approved by the House and Senate in March 2020, the amendment to the Constitution approved in November 2020 and signed by Gov. Larry Hogan in May 2021. Mobile sports betting in Maryland will allow for up to 60 online sportsbook.
