Mason Mount Next Club Odds: Man Utd are the new favourites to sign Chelsea midfielder I BettingOdds.com

Mason Mount’s future at Chelsea has been blown up in the air as numerous Premier League clubs are said to be interested in the youngster and he’s looking for a route out of Chelsea. To say the Blues have been underwhelming is an understatement and a 12th-place Premier League finish is likely.

Mason Mount was one of their key stars in their recent Champions League winning campaign and to see him missing out on European football would be a shame. Plenty of clubs in the competition seem to be interested in him and we’ve taken a look at the betting market to see what the betting sites are suggesting of his next move.

Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign the midfielder if the reports are to be believed. They have apparently settled on a fee of around £55m for Mason Mount which has made the bookmakers cut him into a very short price to sign for United. Betvictor have gone as short as 2/5 for him to playing at Old Trafford next season whereas Paddy Power are at around the EVS mark.

Ten Hag hasn’t put a foot wrong with his signings so far and if he’s interested in Mason Mount I’m sure he’d be backed. There is a question about new owners coming into Old Trafford and if someone like Jim Ratcliffe arrives, it would be wise for him to back their manager and get the players he needs, it’s also a massive statement to sign a player like Mount from one of your rivals.

Liverpool were previously the front runners in the market for Mason Mount and were as short as 1/2 to sign him a month or so back. Liverpool are desperate for midfielders and a player like Mason Mount would certainly add some needed creativity to the Liverpool lineup.

For Liverpool fans they have unfortunately missed out on Champions League football with Man Utd and Newcastle both locking in the two remaining positions. This could potentially deter mount from a move to Anfield but they still do have Europa League to play in which is an upgrade from Chelsea who will be without any form of European football next season.

To me, this signing makes more sense than Man Utd. Liverpool are lacking numbers in the middle of the pitch whereas Man Utd have the prestige of having players like Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Fred and McTominay. There’s also a chance they sign Marcel Sabitzer on a permanent deal if Bayern Munich allow it. Liverpool would be guaranteed playtime for Moutn which could be huge for him.

It’s fair to say at this point that Arsenal blew it when it came to winning the Premier League but that isn’t to say they will give up. What they need now is to put this season behind them and carry on competing for silverware and to do that, they need to bolster their squad.

Arsenal have got some great players in the midfield but to be competitive in multiple competitions and the Premier League all season long, you need depth in your squad, and adding Mason Mount into this mix will free up space in that midfield and allow the players to stay fit all year round.

They also have Champions League football now and the Englishman has proved he is more than capable on the biggest stage in the past. I’m sure Arsenal fans would love to sign a player like Mount, they just need to beat the offers from Liverpool and Man Utd if they want his services for next season.

You can often get some decent value in players to stay market and this time could be no different. You can currently get 11/4 for Mount to stay at Chelsea and with no concrete statements being made yet, it could prove to be a decent bet.

Chelsea are reportedly seeking £85m for Mount which is £30m off Man Utd’s valuation which could ultimately lead him to staying at the club. Mount is Chelsea through and through and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind staying at the club as part of their rebuild, but if they aren’t matching his ambitions then it would be wise to move on.

You can look elsewhere in the market after these four options but as with most betting markets, it gets pretty dicey. Bayern Munich are mentioned but it’s hard to see Mount playing abroad at such a young age given he has adapted to the Premier League very well. Man City are also in the mix at a price of 14/1 but their midfield is looking sorted, it’s probably best to focus on the leading pack at the moment.
