Pieter Bergh is the Griquas coach. He is on the verge of leading the side to their first Currie Cup title in 52 years. Berg's father is Piet Bergg, a former Boland rugby administrator and CEO. He played rugby for Bolanda at Craven Week level and was a ball boy at Wellington stadium. In his early coaching career he worked for Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie and then for Eugene Eloff at Bolands. After that he was assistant coach at Griqas and Central University of Technology Ixias.
