Memphis Grizzlies are slight favorites against LA Lakers in NBA playoffs

The Memphis Grizzlies are slight favorites to win their best-of-seven first round series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

After the BetMGM line opened as a toss-up with both teams at -110 to win the series, the Grizzlies quickly shifted to -130 favorites in the moments following the Lakers' OT win over Minnesota in the play-in tournament on Tuesday. The Lakers are +105 to win the first round series.

Despite the Grizzlies being slight favorites to win the series, BetMGM had the Lakers ahead of the Grizzlies in the odds to win the NBA Championship. LA is +550 to win the West and +1400 to win the NBA title, while Memphis was +650 to win the West and +1800 to win the NBA title. The Suns are +200 favorites to win the West, while the Bucks are +275 favorites to win the NBA Championship, according to BetMGM's odds at Midnight on Wednesday.

Memphis opened as 3.5-point favorites in Game 1, or -150 on the money line, with the Lakers as +125 underdogs.

Memphis will host Game 1 at FedExForum on Sunday. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central, and the game will be televised by ABC nationally.
