Men’s Tennis ATP Rankings 2023

The 2023 tennis season has gotten off to an exciting start, with the Australian Openproviding us with all the excitement right from the outset. As soon as that was done, the ATP tour resumed, and the rankings began to shift. Injuries will happen, and guys will come out of nowhere to change the tennis standings. It’s only normal. 

With the next major not until May, there are a few months for the top guns to solidify high draws there and go to work in the smaller 2 out of 3 events. The tennis ATP rankings are always on the move, so even while we look at the leaders today, this may change up as quickly as next week. One bad tournament could do that. 

The Top 15: 15-11

15. Francis Tiafoe

Coming in hot at No. 15 in the ATP tennis rankings is Francis Tiafoe. He’s repped America well of late, and those making tennis picks can always keep him in consideration. Tiafoe took part in the NBA’s All-Star Celebrity Game over the weekend, and if that isn’t telling of the type of shape he keeps himself in, then nothing really is. Keep an eye on him in Rio De Janeiro. 

14. Karen Khachanov

Down a spot in the latest ranking at No.14 is Karen Khachanov. He made it all the way to the semis in Australia, and it did numbers for his rep. He’s earned just under $700,000 this year alone and hopes to sneak into the top 10. There is plenty of opportunity for him to continue to ascend.

13. Cameron Norrie

The tennis odds for Cameron Norrie are usually pretty good. The Brit is No.13 and is only climbing as he goes. He will likely be inside of the top 10 by the time the end of the year rolls around, as he continues to be a player folks hope to avoid. His ascension should be able to extend as the backhands keep landing.

12. Jannik Sinner

At No. 12 is Jannik Sinner, who, at a ripe 21 years of age, is just getting himself started. He’s played some incredible tennis over the last year and has a real chance to challenge Carlos Alcaraz in the years to come for the title of best in the world. Of course, Novak Djokovic isn’t going anywhere just yet. But watch for Sinner.

11. Hubert Hurkacz

A player who gets overlooked when making ATP picks, Hubert Hurkacz, is in at No.11 The Poland native is 26 years old and has earned north of $3 million a season for the first time in his career. Grigor Dimitrov defeated him in his last match after being able to outlast Roberto Bautista-Agut. 

The Top 15: 10-6

10. Holger Rune

Holger Rune is in at No.10 and is a player with great ATP odds. He’s only 19 years of age and has already brought in over $3 million for his career, including a highly successful 2022 season. Bijs Brouwer was about to knock him out in his last event, and he had to retire early. He had trailed 4-6, 0-4, so he has a little bit of a way to go. But watch for Rune. He’s a young stud.

9. Felix Auger-Aliassime

Felix Auger-Aliassime is 22 years of age and putting on a show for Canada. He claimed four singles titles a year ago and is quickly becoming a must-see performer. He’s quickly been climbing the tennis ATP rankings, showing he belongs amongst the elite. 

8. Daniil Medvedev

Injuries may have knocked him down a few pegs, but Daniil Medvedev is making his way back to the top. Currently No.8 in the world, he’s won 16 singles titles in his career. He already got one in 2023 after claiming two a season ago. He’s 10-2 on the season so far, and when his name is on the tennis schedule, it’s a must-see.

7. Taylor Fritz

The highest-ranked US player, here comes Taylor Fritz. He’s No.7 in the world and fresh off a title at the Delray Open; he’s been looking the best we’ve ever seen. He can’t do much on the court, and he’s showing that persistence pays. That marked the fifth singles title in his career and his fourth over the past two years on the tour. Watch for Fritz; he’s nearly top 5. 

6. Rafael Nadal

Still working hard, Rafael Nadal rounds out the list before entering the top 5. He’s dealt with an extreme number of injuries, so the fact he still sits at No.6 is pretty impressive. He has outlasted Roger Federer, who has since retired. Rafa suffered a second-round defeat against Mackenzie MacDonald in straight sets in the Australian Open. But his story isn’t finished yet.

The Top 15: 5-1

5. Andrey Rublev

Inside the top five, we go. Andrey Rublev has been an incredible player of late and is currently competing in Qatar. He won four singles titles last year, and earned over $4.6 million in prize money, the highest total of his impressive career. Now 25 years of age, the native of Russia has shown to be a tough-to-knockout player on the floor. He does well to frustrate his opposition each match. You won’t see him getting blown out any time soon.

4. Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud comes in at No.4, having quadrupled his earnings in 2022 from the prior season. He earned over $8 million last season, winning three singles titles. He went 51-22 in singles, leaving just a little bit to be desired. But that’s a lot of winning for the Norwegian. Ruud is steadily climbing, though it will not be easy for him to crack the top three in the tennis ATP rankings. 

3. Stefanos Tsitsipas

With some of the best hair in all of sports, Stefanos Tsitsipas sits at No.3. He wanted Margot Robbie to watch his last match, but it doesn’t seem as if it happened. Nonetheless, he’s an impressive 13-2 in singles matches on the season. He won two titles and finished with a 61-24 mark a year ago. As he continues to look to climb, the key will be consistency. He’s a top-tier player, and he can challenge anybody for ATP as well as Grand Slam titles. 

2. Carlos Alcaraz

It’s been a quick surge for Carlos Alcaraz as he’s burst onto the scene as such a young man. He’ll turn 20 in May, and he’s already made over $11 million, including $10.1 million a year ago. He went 57-13 in singles last year en route to winning five titles. He opened up his 2022 year by going 4-0 and sweeping Cameron Norrie in straight sets in the Argentina Open final. The only guy ahead of him is Novak Djokovic, and he can catch him with continuity. 

1. Novak Djokovic

The Joker is at the top of the list, as usual. Five hundred ninety points ahead of Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, claimed another title in Australia. He took down Tsitsipas in five sets in what became an instant classic, perhaps one of the best Grand Slam finals ever. Like Alcaraz, he is yet to lose a match this year. But he’s gone 12-0 with two singles titles. He knocked off Sebastian Korda in three sets to claim the Adelaide International 1 title right before the slam.
