Miami Heat Headlines Weekend Parlay

NBA Action Anchors Parlay

The Miami Heat headline our weekend parlay, and bettors get value NBA odds for the home team against the New York Knicks.

NBA isn’t the only sport featuring in our parlay, which also includes action at UFC 280, and a horse on Kentucky Derby Day at Churchill Downs.

We’re looking to kick things off with a winner with our NBA picks.

Knicks vs Heat (NBA)

The Knicks squared the series at 1-1 with a quality 111-105 Game 2 win, but that’s the norm for a team coming off a Game 1 home loss.

We expect the Heat to be tough to beat in their first home game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. They have been terrific, especially when winning 108-101 in the opening game.

Playing without Jimmy Butler last time didn’t help, and although he’s still doubtful, we liked the way the Heat played without him.

They were leading the game late in the fourth quarter before the Knicks went on a big scoring run, but that shouldn’t put bettors off backing them at the -3½ line with the sportsbook.

The Heat have covered the sport betting spread in six of their last 10 meetings with the Knicks, so there are plenty of positives.

If the Heat get off to a fast start, bettors should expect the MLB live betting line to be around -7½, so it could pay to jump in early.

Khaos Williams vs Rolando Bedoya (UFC)

UFC 288 lines have Khaos Williams at -325 to beat Rolando Bedoya, so we have found better value in the props department.

Williams pays -145 with online gambling lines to finish the fight before the final bell. It’s a better price than the -325 moneyline odds, so we’re happy to include it in our weekend sports parlay.

The 29-year-old is 13-3 following a tough loss to Randy Brown. He landed only slightly fewer punches, defending four takedown attempts, so it was a close loss for the welterweight contender.

However, he showed his knockout power when sending Miguel Baeza to the canvas in 2021. The third-round knockout was impressive, and we fancy his chances of getting back to his best against Bedoya.

He explained his nickname, which is perfect for a fighter.

See Khaos, I got that name when I was thirteen, you know, growing up in rough neighborhoods,” Williams said. “I was getting in a lot of trouble, and people was always like, ‘You cause a lot of chaos, a lot of ruckus.’ My name is Kalinn, actually with a K, so people was calling me chaos, and I just put the K on top of it.

Churchill Downs Race 8

We have found a thoroughbred to include in our weekend parlay.

Race 8 at Churchill Downs is the $300,000 Modesty Stakes, and Caravel is the current 4-5 favorite.

Those odds are worth taking for the favorite, who is shooting for four consecutive wins after scoring in the Grade II Shakerdown at Keeneland.

The 6-year-old mare by Mizzen Mist also won the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint when beating Emaraaty Ana and Creative Force, a massive victory for the US-based runner.

If she is anywhere near her best, she should be anchoring parlays on Saturday. She is a big race winner and has beaten better opposition throughout her career.

Caravel worked 4-furlongs in 48.6 on the dirt at Churchill Downs Thursday for @bradcoxracing. 21/66. Last Race for the @BreedersCup Turf Sprint winner: a victory against the boys in the G2 Shakertown at Keeneland (4-8)
