The Miami Marlins took advantage of the fact that the Braves clinched the division, sweeping Atlanta after a 16-2 win over the Braves in Sunday’s series finale. The win brought Miami to 78-72 on the year, sitting tied for the final Wild Card spot in the National League. . Jorge Soler leads the Marlins with 36 home runs along with 73 RBIs while Bryan De La Cruz has 74 RBIs to lead Miami this season. Luis Arraez also has 199 hits, 30 doubles and a .353 batting average while De La Cruz has a team-high 31 doubles as well. Edward Cabrera will get the start for the Marlins here and is 6-7 with a 4.52 ERA and 106 strikeouts this season.

I’m rolling with the Marlins here. I know after such a big performance in a series like what Miami had against Atlanta, you could potentially think that a letdown in a series opener could happen at home. But the thing here is that the Marlins are the better team with a more realistic playoff position and Edward Cabrera’s been a much better pitcher at home this season. I think the Marlins come out and get the job done here, so give me Miami at home in this one.
