After two straight wins over Indiana, Michigan football will aim for a third this weekend against the Indiana Hoosiers, as well as a seventh win this season.

Tom Allen and Indiana got their signature win over Michigan back during the 2020 season, but the Wolverines have been dominant since then.

During the past two weeks especially, Michigan football has taken its game to another level, beating Minnesota 52-10 and Nebraska 45-7. In Big Ten play, Michigan is outscoring opponents 128-24 and we’ll see if that continues this week.

Michigan football vs. Indiana players to watch

J.J. McCarthy has been getting lots of headlines this week after another stellar game. He’s always a guy to watch for the Wolverines. I’m also keeping an eye on Blake Corum who got 69 yards on just nine attempts last week. I feel like he’s due for a long touchdown run and the Indiana run defense is allowing 4.7 yards per attempt so it could be a big day for the running game.

Looking at the two rosters, there aren’t many Indiana players that would play for Michigan. Wide receiver Cam Camper seems like one of them.

Camper has 13 receptions for 249 yards. The Wolverines’ pass defense was outstanding last week, but they have allowed touchdown passes of more than 30 yards in two of the past three games. So there’s a chance Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson could find Camper for some big plays and he’s someone to keep an eye on.

Michigan football vs. Indiana prediction

This looks like an even bigger mismatch on paper than the past two weeks. However, Indiana has been competitive this season.

Ohio State beat Indiana by 20 points, however, the Hoosiers’ defense kept that game competitive. Indiana also lost to Louisville just 21-14.

Indiana is good at protecting the football and their pass offense averages more than 220 yards per game, but the Hoosiers rank outside the top 10 in sacks allowed and sacks. Their run defense isn’t good and it’s hard to see this game being too competitive.

The 33.5-point spread is pretty large and it’s understandable. I’m not betting against Michigan but wouldn’t be shocked if a lopsided win fell just short of covering.
