Mick Price chases Cox Plate start with unbeaten Globe

Trainer Mick Price has ambitious plans for his promising unbeaten galloper, Globe, aiming for a coveted start in the prestigious Cox Plate at The Valley this spring.

The goal is to secure a place in the Cox Plate on October 28 by targeting the Feehan Stakes (1600m) at The Valley on September.

Despite Globe being a 90-rated horse, Price believes weight-for-age racing might be a challenge for him. However, given the horse’s DNA test results, the perfect distance seems to be 2000 meters, making the Cox Plate a compelling target.

The Feehan Stakes offers a “win and you’re in” opportunity, making it a prime pathway to the Cox Plate.

Alternatively, Price is considering the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on October 14, hoping a Group 1 victory there could secure a spot in the prestigious race.

Globe’s exceptional record of four wins from four starts, with a cumulative 13.7-length margin, has sparked excitement in racing circles.

Although he recently faced a setback due to a virus, Globe has rebounded strongly.
