Middle Tennessee stuns No. 25 Miami, 45-31, with big plays

Middle Tennessee State beats No. 25 Miami 45-31. It's the Blue Raiders' first win in 21 tries against ranked opponents. MTSU forced turnovers on Miami's first three possessions and stopped the Hurricanes on downs on three other occasions. Chase Cunningham passed for 408 yards and three touchdowns, including a 98-yard pass to DJ England-Chisholm. Miami allowed 327 yards, 63 more than it allowed in its entire game at Texas A&M. The game was played in front of a half-filled stadium. Miami turned the ball over on its first 3 possessions.

Middle Tennessee State went to the FBS in 1999. The Blue Raiders were outscored by 585 points by opponents ranked in the AP Top 25 poll. Miami committed three turnovers in a first quarter.
