'Million Dollar Marco' wins $260,000 on the worst NHL bet

“Million Dollar Marco” was not afraid of betting on the worst team in hockey.

Marco Piemonte wagered $250,000 spanning two bets on the Sharks, with $150,000 on San Jose +1.5 and $100,000 on the Sharks moneyline coming in at +160 odds.

Piemonte won $260,000 on the massive bets, likely some of the biggest DraftKings has taken on the young NHL season.

He also might be the only one who was pro-Sharks this season, as San Jose started this season on a horrific run, going 0-10-1 to start the year and being outscored by 42 non-shootout goals — the worst in NHL history through 11 games — entering Tuesday’s tilt with the Flyers.

But the good news is this bet was just crazy enough to work.

Piemonte bet this one live during the Sharks’ eventual 3-2 win, so whatever he saw must’ve been good enough to wager on as he hit the bets after the Sharks ahead, 2-0.

The Sharks certainly made it stressful, though, as goalie Mackenzie Blackwood was forced to save 38 shots and was under siege as the Flyers attempted to come back in the third period.

The Flyers took 20 shots that period as the Sharks defense struggled to stop the pressure.

This bettor, “Million Dollar Marco,” is known for his insane bankroll, among other things, which has gained himself some notoriety in the betting world.

In an interview with The Post last season, he gave out some NFL picks which he did quite well on, going 4-2 and picking two straight-up underdogs.

He is also known for a $60,000 parlay bet that culminated with the Rams winning the 2022 Super Bowl.

The bet won more than $1 million and his new nickname stuck: “Million Dollar Marco.”
