Million Dollar Marco wins $510K on Pistons a day after losing out on $1 million

“Million Dollar Marco” was at it again on Tuesday night, betting on the bottom rungs of the sports world.

Marco Piemonte wagered $250,000 spanning two bets on the NBA-worst Pistons against the Bulls, with $135,000 on Detroit +11.5 at -135 and $100,000 on Detroit moneyline coming in at +410 odds.

The notorious sports bettor won $510,000 across both bets after the Pistons took down the Chicago 105-95 in the Windy City.

The wagers came just one day after Piemonte claimed he lost out on $1 million in the Pistons’ controversial 113-111 loss to the Knicks on Monday.

After that game, Piemonte shared two bet slips on Instagram, one a $90,000 bet on the Pistons moneyline with +900 odds and the other for $110,000 on the Pistons +14.5 (-120 odds) with the caption “$1,000,000 WINNER taken away from me.”

Piemonte also recently revealed a $200,000 bet on the Tennessee Volunteers to win the NCAA men’s national championship, which would win him $3 million.

The Pistons’ win over the Bulls on Tuesday was just their ninth of the season, bringing their record to 9-49, and just their fifth on the road.

It was Detroit’s third-biggest upset on the moneyline of the season.

The Pistons tied the all-time NBA record with a 28-game losing streak earlier this season, which dropped them to 2-29 at one point in late December.

They’ve gone a poor-but-improved 7-20 since the losing streak, giving bettors like Piemonte opportunities to profit off the league’s lowest class.

And “Million Dollar Marco” is no stranger to betting on bad teams.

In November, Piemonte won $260,000 in two bets on the then-winless San Jose Sharks after they got their first win of the season over the Philadelphia Flyers.
