Minnesota gets a third horse in the mix for Saturday's Kentucky Derby
Pete Mattson bought a 1% interest in Mo Donegal for the Kentucky Derby. Matting's connections with Donegl Racing CEO Jerry Crawford led to the deal. The Derby starts on Saturday. It's a week of horse-country revelry for Minnesota.
Mattson is going to bet on both horses in the Kentucky Derby. Matts and Crawford are good friends. Crawford graduated from Macalester in 1971 and is on the school's Board of Trustees. In 2010 Crawford donated a share of the purse from his first Derby starter, Paddy O'Prado, to Macalester's capital campaign. Paddys O’Prada ran third and earned $30,000 for the college.
