Trainers Richard and Will Freedman were more than happy to put a black-type pursuit on hold with an even bigger target in mind for Golden Gift contender Miss Judas.

Miss Judas will chase the big cash on offer in Saturday's $1 million Golden Gift at Rosehill Gardens with a top-two finish virtually assuring juveniles a spot in next year's Golden Slipper.

The $580,000 cheque for winning and handy $190,000 bank for second are enough to get Slipper hopefuls into the world's richest two-year-old event and makes it easier to plan an autumn carnival assault next year.

"If you finish in the top two you are in the Slipper so that's the allure," Will Freedman said.

"We had options to go to Melbourne to get some black-type but we think over the course of her two-year-old season she will pick it up anyway.

"We have opted to go for the big prize and if you do you can really cater your autumn about getting to the Golden Slipper, you don't have to win your way in.

"There was definitely consideration to not go to the Gift and go to Melbourne but we are happy with the filly."

Miss Judas, a $320,000 yearling purchase by 2019 Golden Slipper runner up Microphone, showed plenty of promise in her only race start to date.

The bay filly was doing her best work late when running home for second behind Shangri La Express in the Kirkham Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick last start.

Miss Judas is set for a rematch with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained colt in the Golden Gift and the stable are hopeful of turning the tables.

"I thought her debut was really good," Freedman said.

"I know the winner was smart enough and he probably is a nice colt but I can almost guarantee you that Gai and Adrian‘s horse off one trial is a bit more forward then our horse off one trial.

"I am hoping there is possibly a bit more improvement in our filly than there is in Shangri La Express but I also think at the 600m we were probably five lengths off him as well.

"She has made steady ground in the straight and we've drawn inside Shangri La Express this time around so hopefully that means we can be a bit closer in running."

Shangri La Express has been $2.50 into $2.25 in TAB betting for the Golden Gift while Miss Judas has been $8 out to $8.50.
