Miyan Williams mic'd up: OSU reveals behind-the-scenes look at Buckeye RB

Miyan Williams is back for the 2023 season after leading Ohio State in rushing a season ago. Now, he’s looking to build on that performance in what should be one of the deepest running back rooms in the country.

On Sunday, the Buckeyes revealed a mic’d up segment behind the scenes of Williams preparing for the 2023 season. Whether or not Williams opens the season as the starter, he is in line for another big role this fall.

Last season, Williams led all Buckeyes with 825 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. He was 1 of 3 Buckeyes above 500 yards rushing last year alongside TreVeyon Henderson (571 yards) and Dallan Hayden (553).

Unfortunately, Williams was limited to 3 carries in the Peach Bowl matchup against Georgia due to injury. As a team, Ohio State distributed just 12 carries to true running backs in that game with Xavier Johnson also taking reps in the backfield.

This year, Ohio State heads into the season with Williams, Hayden and Henderson healthy to go with the return of Evan Pryor and Chip Trayanum. Splitting carries efficiently might take some effort in that deep room, but the group as a whole should help the transition into a new starting quarterback for Kyle McCord or Devin Brown.

No matter the situation on the offensive side of the ball, Ohio State maintains the best Big Ten Championship odds to regain control of the league this fall. Interested fans looking to get in on that action can take advantage of our special Caesars Ohio promo code!
