MLB completes first draft lottery, Pittsburgh Pirates are the big winners
MLB completed their first draft lottery this evening. The team with the worst record did not get the first overall pick. All 18 teams that did't make the postseason were placed into a lottery to determine the picks in the 2023 draft.
The three worst teams were given the best odds of receiving a top pick. The Brewers had the lowest odds at 0.2%. The White Sox will pick at No. 15. Pittsburgh will be picking first overall. The team with the worst record from 2022 could have gotten the least pick from the lottery at 7.
The 2023 MLB Draft will take place during All-Star Week in Seattle in July. The first 18 picks of the draft will be: Oakland A's, Angels, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates.
